#1. LinkedIn – Build your Brand, Grow your Network, & Get a Professional Photo

This workshop will help you evolve your LinkedIn profile to be more thorough and engaging. We’ll share tips and strategies for building your personal brand on LinkedIn. We’ll also learn how to use LinkedIn as a tool for growing and nurturing your network. We will explore strategies for growing your business, landing your next dream job or expanding your online reach. By the end of the workshop, participants will have been exposed to the key elements of an effective profile and to several strategies to build their personal brand.

Janet Miller Evans is following her passion for guiding others on their professional and personal growth journeys. After 25 years of leadership in Fortune 100 companies, she is the founder of Janet Miller Evans & Associates. JMEA provides coaching/training services to corporations, nonprofit organizations, and private clients. Areas of expertise include leadership development, employee engagement, trust, and emotional intelligence. Janet received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Master of Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is also an Adjunct Professor in Professional Studies and Public Administration. Janet has served on community non-profit boards and as being appointed an inaugural member of the Alamo Municipal Advisory Council. Janet currently serves on the Community Advisory Panel for KQED and is a member of the San Francisco Chapter of The Links, Inc. She enjoys hiking, reading, and travel. She is married and has two daughters.


Melissa Schwartz, Presentation and Communications Skills Coach and Trainer, IMPACT3Sixty

Presentation and communication skills are in Melissa’s DNA. She has spent the last 20+ years helping executives and high potentials succeed in the most important presentations and interactions of their careers. Her methodology is built on a solid foundation of research and experience and has been honed over scores of successful coaching engagements. She believes that how you show up matters, and everyone has the ability to improve their presence, their communication skills and their ability to deliver a powerful presentation. Melissa believes coaching and training should be fun, challenging and engaging, and aims to become a trusted advisor, coach and resource. Kristin Speer, Managing Partner - Technology Practice, Westwood & Wilshire

Kristin Speer is Managing Partner of Westwood & Wilshire’s Technology Practice, specializing in executive search for cloud-based SaaS and PaaS companies with B2B and B2B2C business models. She distinguished herself in Korn/Ferry International’s Global Technology Practice, and went on to establish AccelSearch, completing numerous retained executive searches across a variety of C-level roles for both emerging technology startups and global technology companies. Kris earned a double major bachelor’s degree (B.A.S.) from Stanford University in Environmental Earth Sciences and Music, and was elected to the Stanford Cap & Gown Honorary Society. Kris is a board member and the former Board Chair of Redwood Symphony, and loves ballroom dancing.




Dixie Dunn, VP Customer Success (Enterprise, Big Data Software Development) OptimalPlus

Dixie Dunn is VP of Customer Success at Optimal Plus where her team manages global customer accounts and helps customers leverage big data analytics in their business operations. Dixie started her career with a Physics degree as an industrial lab tech and moved through various technical and business managerial and executive roles in global startups and Fortune 500 companies in electronics hardware and enterprise software. She is based in San Jose, California. Dixie holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics and a Master in Business Administration both from Utah University.


#3. Talent Connections: How Recruiting Really Works

Recruiters specialize in getting the best talent connected with the best jobs. As you work in executive levels, you will work more and more with recruiters. The process is sometimes mysterious: why are there both internal and external recruiters, how do you find a good recruiter, what do recruiters look for in candidates, how do recruiters work with hiring managers?

Kristin Speer, Managing Director at Westwood & Wilshire, will share insights, examples, and advice for candidates working with recruiting agencies and corporate internal recruiters, and for companies using recruiters to leverage their outreach. Special guests from different backgrounds will also share their experiences. You’ll get the inside scoop on the recruiting process, and learn how to make the most of these professional relationships.

Anuradha Gali, Engineering Leader, Uber
Anu Gali is an Engineering Leader at Uber leading Business Insights.
Her team is responsible for Rides/Eats Trip Forecasting, helps business Optimize budget across Operations and Business units and predicts Customer Value across all our users. As a tech leader, Anu has built high performing engineering teams from the ground up and  steered large-scale projects in Data, ML, Web, e-Commerce and Mobile technologies for companies such as Uber, Groupon, Shutterfly, and Adobe. Anu strongly believes in having an entrepreneurial mindset and in helping others to reach their potential. A few years back, in her spare time, she co-founded a company and released a social entertainment app “IntoMovies”. She also volunteers for a number of charitable organizations and STEM programs.


Asha Gohil, FinTech leader
Asha Gohil is a FinTech leader with success at scaling fast growing products including digital tools and websites. Asha Gohil has over 20 years of experience in the financial services and software development industry. She has extensive experience in international line management having directly managed a global staff across three continents at leading financial services firms - BlackRock, Barclays Global Investors (BGI), Morgan Stanley (MSCI), CSFB and Wells Fargo. Asha earned her MBA from The Wharton School, and holds a BA in Finance from Northern Arizona University - The W.A. Franke College of Business.



Andrea Tegstam, Executive Recruiter, Westwood & Wilshire
Andrea Tegstam is an Executive Recruiter with Westwood & Wilshire. She brings a wealth of international business consulting and market research experience to the firm and most recently worked as Sr. Technical Recruiter helping Silicon Valley start-ups grow their teams. With multilingual and multicultural skills and a keen interest in both technology and people, Andrea has a track record of successful placements in start-ups varying from SaaS, Big Data, Data Science, VR, Gaming, Digital Health and Blockchain Technology. She holds a BSc. in Business Administration and Economics from Lund University, Sweden and also is a graduate of the European Union Executive Training Program, Japan. While home is now the SF Bay Area, Andrea was raised in Sweden, and lived for 15 years in Japan and Spain. Outside of work she enjoys hiking, yoga, Japanese cultural events, creating jewelry, traveling, and exploring the local wine country with family and friends.

Wesley Burwell, Director, Talent Acquisition & Development, Global Blood Therapeutics
Wes has close to 20 years of experience in HR and Talent Acquisition. He has been described as a “talent magnet” with an innate ability to match the perfect candidate for a position.Since 2015, Wes has been leading the Talent Acquisition function at Global Blood Therapeutics to over 4x growth and transition from R&D to commercialization. As a Founder of PharmaTrust (biopharma recruitment) in 2002, he has helped scale a variety of strong-growth startups and public company clients, primarily in biotech/research. Wes also served as Director of Talent for SwitchFly (travel e-commerce platform) between 2009 and 2014 and Adjunct Professor – Human Resource Programs at the Golden Gate University from 2008 – 2011. Wes holds a BBA degree in Human Resources from Golden Gate University and an Executive MBA from University of San Francisco School of Management.

Cameron Hume, Senior Director, Doctor On Demand

Cameron Hume is currently a Senior Director, Account Management, with Doctor On Demand a telemedicine company based in San Francisco. At Doctor On Demand, Cameron partners with clients to drive awareness and utilization of the product through multi-channel integrated marketing strategies. Prior to Doctor On Demand, Cameron worked for BlackRock where she identified key customer segments and created strategic integrated marketing plans that included both customer acquisition and retention strategies. Cameron has spent the majority of her 15 year career working in ecommerce, fintech, digital marketing and strategic consulting. She holds a M.S. in Integrated Marketing from NYU and B.S. in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University.


Laraine McKinnon, Talent & Culture Strategist, Emtrain

Laraine is a strategist who blends behavioral science, big data and practical implementation ideas to solve problems. She focuses on diversity and inclusion, talent advocacy and employee benefits. Laraine also an Advisor to Emtrain and Betterment, Founder of LMC17, President of The CLUB Silicon Valley, and the founder of a women’s leadership talent Incubator. Laraine was previously a managing director at BlackRock where she worked with Fortune 500 firms on workforce demographics and retirement benefits. She holds a BA in political science and women's studies from Wellesley College and a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion for HR from Cornell University. Laraine was recognized among the 2018 “Women of Influence” by the Silicon Valley Business Times.


Jasmine Singh Commercial Counsel, Pinterest

Jasmine Singh is Commercial Counsel at Pinterest, managing the company’s global inbound, expense, and commercial agreements. She is also an implicit bias trainer for new hires and on the Steering Committee of Women@Pinterest. Prior to joining Pinterest, Jasmine worked as Corporate Counsel for 24 Hour Fitness, where she negotiated and drafted commercial agreements, advised on product and strategy, and was Co- Chair of 24 Hour’s internal women’s organization. Before moving in-house, Jasmine was an Associate in the SF offices of Kerr & Wagstaffe LLP, Arnold & Porter LLP (formerly Howard Rice), and Kirkland & Ellis LLP, practicing complex commercial litigation. Jasmine earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction from the University of Michigan in 2004 and graduated Order of the Coif from UCLA School of Law in 2008. Jasmine founded The Dincert Movement in 2017, hosting at-home concerts + dinner to raise money for Oakland-area nonprofits lacking institutional giving channels. Jasmine also serves on the Boards of Directors of the Young Women Social Entrepreneurs, the South Asian Bar Association, Public Advocates, and California ChangeLawyers. She has been involved in a leadership capacity in several diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in the legal profession, ranging from Law Academy to the Judicial Intern Opportunity Program, her work in the space being informed by her background in Critical Race Studies. In the wee morning hours, Jasmine teaches indoor cycling at Ride Oakland and Bhangra Barre at Remedy Barre.
