Job Opportunity! Manager, Community Engagement & Administration

The CLUB is seeking an experienced community engagement manager. This role is focused on building community and managing timely and engaging conversations to strengthen the bonds and brand of a non-profit organization. The position is for a part-time (anticipated 10  hours per week) independent contractor. Start date is in October 2023.

About The CLUB:

The CLUB is a diverse community of inspiring professionals helping women to accelerate their leadership journeys. Our name is an acronym for Connect, Lead, Unit and Build. We are a San Francisco Bay Area organization known casually as “The CLUB” and formally as the “Women’s Club of Silicon Valley.” We are a 501(c)3 organization.

We help women build the skills and confidence to succeed as they progress in their career journey. Our members hail from every major Silicon Valley company, plus an array of other organizations and initiatives throughout the Bay Area. We are a diverse population in every way: age, tenure, educational background, race, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, leadership style, etc. Our membership is inclusive and open to any person who wants to support and accelerate women’s leadership.

About the ideal candidate:

You are a qualified community manager and administrator that is aligned with our mission. You have demonstrated success managing membership organizations and their social media channels. You have exceptional oral and written communication skills. You are detail oriented. You have a professional but collegiate demeanor, with the ability to moderate online and offline conversations, and help our members get value out of their membership. Ultimately, you should be able to represent our brand and strengthen the ties within the amazing CLUB community.

You are able to work independently while maintaining effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, CLUB members and extended community. You are resourceful, comfortable learning new technology, dedicated to supporting online processes for membership and event registration, and you possess great customer service skills. You are able to act decisively and confidently across a wide variety and range of circumstances and situations, and possess good judgment when to escalate questions or issues to the CLUB Board.

As a San Francisco Bay Area organization looking for support for in-person events, the ideal candidate will be local. Non-local candidates may be considered if they have a thoughtful way to coordinate local volunteer support when needed.

The Manager is an independent contractor with part-time hours (anticipated 10 hours per week) and will: 

  • Administer our community management platform, website, and technology infrastructure

  • Maintain membership roster, including current and past data

  • Conduct analysis of member engagement trends

  • Manage our event & program calendar

  • Support Mentorship Circle, Incubator and other programs.

  • Assist members with planning & management of events

  • Execute marketing plans – update marketing materials, messaging on social media, member recruitment

  • Set and implement social media and communication campaigns to align with CLUB events and initiatives. Provide engaging text, image and/or video content for our social media accounts

  • Monitor and service inbound requests for information and collaboration opportunities

  • Other duties as needed

A successful Manager will:

  • Increase engagement for all members (current, new, lapsed, potential) across the CLUB social platforms

  • Create social media campaigns that influence people to grow support and advocacy for women’s leadership.

  • Expand the CLUB’s community presence in the Bay Area.

  • Build relationships with influencers and non-profit brands involving women’s leadership and development.

  • Consistently deliver high-quality event management with compelling promotion to increase RSVPs, excellent logistics (and quick resolution of any issues), and impactful post-event coverage.

  • Create a warm & welcoming onboarding process for new CLUB members.

  • Expand the inclusive and welcoming reputation of the CLUB, ensuring that all campaigns and communications are reflective of our value for diversity and equity.

  • Connect across the community online and with attendance at all major CLUB events.

  • Build their reputation and take pride in running a well organized, responsive, successful non-profit organization.
