This event will consist of a panel discussion featuring Wingee Sin, an investment executive with over 15 years of investing experience at Goldman Sachs, Barclays Global Investors, and State Street Global Advisors who co-authored “Impact with Wings: Stories to Inspire and Mobilize Women Angel Investors and Entrepreneurs.” Terri Hanson Mead, an angel investor and President of Solutions2Projects, and Debra Vernon, an angel and corporate and securities attorney at DLA Piper. The event will be hosted by Olga V. Mack, founder of Women Serve on Board movement and General Counsel at ClearSlide, Inc.
Wingee Sin is an investment executive with over 15 years of investing experience at Goldman Sachs, Barclays Global Investors, and State Street Global Advisors. Her passion in social impact sprouted from her undergraduate days at the University of California at Berkeley, with a specific passion for aging, financial inclusion and security, and social enterprise business models. Currently she is an advisor and investment committee member for the Next Wave Social Impact Fund. Most recently, she co-authored “Impact with Wings: Stories to Inspire and Mobilize Women Angel Investors and Entrepreneurs.” Her chapter, “Angel Investing as Self Empowerment,” aims to inspire women to use their wealth to create social impact. She was part of the Pipeline Fellowship program and a Limited Partner in the Rising Tide Fund.
Terri Hanson Mead is President of Solutions2Projects, LLC, a consulting company that provides IT strategy and IT compliance services in the life sciences space. She is also an angel investor and Vice President of Sand Hill Angels, regularly advises startups and in her spare time, flies helicopters. She is passionate about supporting, and advocating for, female founders and investors.
Debra Vernon is a corporate and securities attorney who advises technology companies and investors on legal and business issues faced throughout all stages of technology company growth. Debra is a director of The Athena Alliance, whose mission is increasing the number of women serving as directors of corporate boards, and LabGirls STEM Initiative, dedicated to encouraging elementary school-age girls to develop a lifelong passion for technology. Debra is also a Milestone Mentor at the Nasdaq Entrepreneurial Center, a visiting specialist at UC Merced, and a member of the Band of Angels and Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs. In 2016 Debra was honored as one of the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s “Women of Influence” and named as a “Silicon Valley Woman to Watch” by bizwomen.com. She earned her B.A. in music and comparative lit from Yale University, summa cum laude with Distinction, and her J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she was co-president of the Stanford Law and Technology Association.
Olga V. Mack is a startup lawyer who enjoys advising her clients to success and growth. Currently General Counsel at ClearSlide, she previously worked at Zoosk, Visa Inc., Pacific Art League of Palo Alto, and Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. She serves on as an advisory board member of ChannelMeter, Contract Wrangler, and TimeJoy, all early stage startups. Olga is a passionate advocate for women and has founded the Women Serve on Boards movement. @OlgaVMack
