Join us to honor the late, great, notorious RBG. Our featured speakers will reflect on key aspects of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg’s legacy of equality and the impact in the workplace, healthcare, criminal justice system, technology and beyond.



Tanal Basma - Startup Consultant

Tanal Basma is an HR leader and consultant working with a stealth startup to advance women’s leadership in a peer to peer network. Previously, Tanal served as the HR Business Partner at Epic and was responsible for operations and talent management. As a member of the founding team, she led several key initiatives including rolling out the infrastructure as well as sustainability and development programs. She's passionate about a top-down approach to diversity, equity and inclusion through personal experience and a heightened awareness of how our differences enhance the workplace. Tanal also sits on the board as chair of Mentoring circles at the CLUB SV.

Mindy Morton, Partner, Procopio

Mindy’s practice focuses on internet and intellectual property litigation. She litigates cutting-edge cases at the intersection of technology and free speech issues. She defends internet companies against defamation, copyright, trademark and related claims on First Amendment, Communications Decency Act Section 230, DMCA and US SPEECH Act grounds. She also helps clients resolve disputes involving trade secret, patent, trademark, copyright, computer fraud and complex commercial litigation. Mindy works closely with clients to resolve disputes quickly and efficiently when litigation is not in their strategic interests. When early resolution is not possible, she is a zealous and professional advocate with jury trial experience. Mindy is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeal, Ninth and Federal Circuits, and the United States District Court, Northern, Central, Eastern and Southern Districts of California and Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Mansi Shah, Partner, Kilpatrick Townsend

Mansi H. Shah has a talent for resolving complex disputes and understanding obscure technologies, and has achieved numerous victories for her clients and is known for her professionalism, creative approach to solving challenges, and zealous advocacy. She has proven herself not only a respected lawyer, but also a dedicated advocate, mentor, and leader within the legal and tech communities. Mansi has endeavored to improve the racial and gender diversity in both law firms and technology companies. A dynamic yet humble leader, Ms. Shah’s tireless efforts at mentoring those in the legal profession and in the business world, and raising awareness of the challenges they face, have truly benefited and lifted others. Mansi serves as a board member in several local and national organizations, including South Asian Bar Association of North America (SABA), International Senior Lawyers Project, Ecumenical Hunger Program, and Facing History and Ourselves. 


Adimika Arthur, Executive Director, HealthTech for Medicaid (HT4M)

Adimika Arthur is an experienced clinical epidemiologist and hospital/health system executive. She uniquely brings her population health, public hospital expertise and focus on improving health equity and access to quality care for vulnerable populations. She serves as the founding Executive Director for HealthTech for Medicaid (HT4M), a collaborative convening of payers, providers, policymakers and innovative entrepreneurs collectively advocating for health equity and improvement of the Medicaid program on a national scale. Adimika holds non-profit board roles for many organizations including CALHIPSO and others focused on the pipeline of underrepresented youth getting into the full spectrum of health careers. She received her BS in Biochemistry from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia, her Masters Degree in Public Health in Epidemiology and Health Systems from the University of Washington.


Marla Kowalski Knapp, Marketing and Relationship Manager Tribe AI - Contract

Marla’s zone of genius is HER PLAYBOOK. As a seasoned global sponsorship and event marketing leader, Marla is a builder of “plays” that score a win to drive business forward. She helps brands and startups define a problem, build a strategic plan, execute a memorable experience, and analyze the results. Her strategic thinking leads to proven successes with FIFA, NFL, MLB, USOC, IOC, SUM, NBA, USGA, Soccer, Motorsports, key influencers, Fortune 100 banks, and Top 10 global merchants.  She is a relationship builder, a strategic thinker, a meticulous planner, a rigorous counter of budget numbers, and a driver of amazing “wins”. Marla is a sounding board for young entrepreneurs, politically active, an advocate for supporting underprivileged youth organizations, a fundraiser for girl’s initiatives in war-torn countries, and a translator for elementary school children that need Spanish/English social and emotional learning skills.


Aila Malik, Founder & Principal Venture Leadership Consulting

A lawyer by schooling and nonprofit executive by trade, Aila Malik has been a change-agent in her community and the nonprofit sector, at large, for over two decades. In 2015, Aila founded a unique management-consulting firm, Venture Leadership Consulting, partnering with not-for-profit organizations to drive performance and scale solutions that close systemic gaps of inequity. She has received recognition for her leadership, activism, and tireless service. In 2018, Aila and her family (husband and three children) realized a decade-long dream to travel the globe together for 54 weeks. With an emphasis on building empathy and global community through humanitarian and environmental learning, the family of five (Franklin Street Globetrotters) visited 41 countries and partnered with over 25 NGOs/initiatives to preserve cultural and natural wisdom. Living with intention as a compassionate advocate of community kindness, planet protection, and family togetherness, Aila is deeply committed to contributing to a world in which disparity does not limit people’s access to opportunity.


Janine Yancey, Founder & CEO, Emtrain

Janine Yancey is a workplace visionary and passionate advocate for healthy workplace cultures. As founder and CEO of CultureTech firm Emtrain, Janine developed an innovative platform focused on harassment, bias, discrimination, designed to change employee behaviors and provide employers with leading indicators of risk. Emtrain’s Workplace Culture Report and Workplace Culture Diagnostic provide an actionable framework for assessing and improving workplace culture. Janine writes extensively, has provided expert testimony and advice to state legislatures, and has been published and interviewed in the mainstream media including The Washington Post, Fast Company, USA Today, Bloomberg Business, TechCrunch, and Startup Grind. Prior to founding Emtrain, Janine was a partner at Employment Law Partners where she specialized in solving labor and employment problems for high tech firms including Google and Intuit. Janine earned her JD at University of California Hastings School of Law and a BA in English and Political Science at the University of California Berkeley.
